About my design

vixyish on May 14 '07
That'd be 'a message with a flair.' Unless you are actually using a flare gun. Which, hey, it worked in The Breakfast Club...

this is really dumb. hideous, and i think the point of hating school is that you DON'T learn things..

maybe you should really put some time and effort into your art before submitting it.

I'm not a fan of the design and color scheme - it looks like it'd sell nicely at Hot Topic, though.

* trys holding back her laugher and remain serious*

Yes. I agree with all those people up there. GOSh this is crap! sheesh becauseschool so rules! ROFLMAO!!!

WEll I seriously could keep a straight face even typing that. I really like this, I just could tell it said 'things' a first, and I agree with you I don't really think science is all that much needed, I'm going to be getting into art and music for my career too

I really hate all of these, regardless of the terrible impression you had made on me prior to me seeing these (the only difference is I am being more blunt about it), I think they're all shite.

okay, i say college is worth your time, but i'm assuming the designer is in high school - at which point i'll agree that the school systems are aweful and you don't learn jack. which isn't to say that you don't need science and math (i love both!), but you're not going to learn anything worth while in high school, it's all bs.
sjgrovo
sjgrovo on May 14 '07
and as for the shirt - i don't think it's that bad this just isn't the right crowd - it IS very hot topic, which isn't a bad thing - it just sounds like he's not appealing to this crowd. There's some talent here, the little characters are cute in the other designs, maybe he just needs to push them on someone other than threadless :)

The design isn't doing anything for me.

Its an ugly design of a slacker concept. Ew.
Kublai Khan
Kublai Khan on May 14 '07
I don't think the debate here is whether or not the artist believes in the public school system, or the contradictory views of apparently everyone, but instead the quality of the product. Let's try to stay on topic here, shall we?

Not a bad design, definitely nothing unique about the concept, and not something I'd wear. Bearing that in mind, however, I do know several people who would wear this. 3
therecouldbenothingafterThis
again, not the threadless style. dont be too offended though, i know plenty of people who would wear this.. they're just not into threadless..

I hope you will keep an open mind about "science and stuff". Do keep in mind that the computer you are using to make art wouldn't be here without science. This doesn't mean you have to make science your primary mission in life, but it does mean you'll be completely left behind if you don't pay attention.

Ninja_sloth
Ninja_sloth on May 15 '07
If you don't need science and all this stupid crap... you probably don't need math either. Especially with art being mostly on computers now, Computers don't understand numbers "and all this crap". That was all sarcasm, I felt the same way in middle school too, but just wait till high school and college. You will learn that the crap you learned will help with semi-inteligent conversations.

"I'm stupid and I don't care." Yeah, that attitude will get you far in life.

Wow, a lot of people at Threadless really love school. Can't believe you all got so offended by someone saying they didn't need science. If you don't intend to do something scientific, it is 99% a waste of time.

I hated English and yet somehow here I am speaking the language...who would have thought.

Shirts like these are useful in that they help me decide which people to avoid contact with.

I like learning, though I'm taking a years break but I'll be hungry for more information once I come back!!! Science rules, I like to know how things work and why they work, though I do like art too...
