I don't think cats need drugs to have this type of self-perception.

same concept as glennz 'dog delusions' design

Pfliiger on May 10 '07
It doesn't help that there are pill looking things on the dresser next to the cat, he needs to lay off the drugs man.

shouldn't the lion be fierce? who dreams of being a wimpy lion, if you're already a cat?

apgk777 on May 10 '07

apgk777
apgk777 on May 10 '07
people, please don't compare this design with glennz 'dog delusions' design.... here is absolutly differenet ideas..... (that design probably showed that small dog want see itself as a big angry dog).... this idea - cat ate drugs and now in mirror can see lion...he has hallucinations..... but it doesn't mean cat want to be angry lion

the point is this idea is not the least bit original, or executed well.

^ it's called copyright infringement if you use a logo or trademark without permission.

svetlana, copyright and trademark infringement is a tricky area and legalities depend on the jurisdiction. In general, copyright law protects the expression of the idea but not the idea itself. Also, copyright protection is limited to a certain duration and when the copyright protection expires, the work enters the public domain and can be freely used by others. Trademark infringement law is bit more complicated and in general and in an over simplistic example an infringement really occurs when there is a 'likelihood of confusion' about the origin of goods or services. If you are in different markets, you might be able to use the similar name, logo, slogan etc. I am of course over simplifying the law here, the exact legalities are much convoluted.

dkitsov, svetlana,

To further substantiate my point - please take a look at this design on threadless http://www.threadless.com/product/791/Knight_Ride#zoom

It is a great idea and design and it has been printed also. It has a picture of David Hasselhoff. If we go by your reasoning then it should be considered stealing, copyright, trademark infringement also but it is not. Techinically, such uage is not considered an infringement.

I hope this helps your understanding of the subject.

I think it could be argued that this design is different--it's not motivational like the other one; instead, it's a cat tripping out.

love it and i'd buy it!!
