I think this is about living with the living. Being stuck in the middle, feeling helpless, trying to help, but really just putting off the inevitable. Awww- isn't it optimistic?

Maybe instead they all make up and have a party. We can't know for sure.

Very poignant. I like it a lot. Don't think I'd wear the pale blue/khaki combo, but I do think these colours work well together... The pastel blue gives a sad look, but the warm khaki prevents it from looking glacial.

Very nice illustration. It makes me think of "I know why the caged bird sings." Like the bird uses song to escape his limited existence. But considering how sad the kid looks and your description, perhaps the the bird flying away is the bird's soul and the black bird just died? I don't know. I guess I'm a little lost on the meaning, but that's probably just me.

Thanks for all the comments! I do like Bluesunset's take on the meaning of this. But to me it really is just about the boy trying to keep the peace, though he's conflicted about how his solution. (caging them up). That was my thought. But I like the suggestion too!

I can definitely relate to the girl on this shirt. I've got 20 rodents, myself. On cage cleaning days it can be overwhelming. I'm sure that's not what you were trying to convey, but given my experience of caring for so many animals that's immediately what I took away from this shirt. Anyhow, I love it.
