About my design
by treebeans
Just a little concept to remind us that we still have to fight for press freedom on a daily basis in some countries.

something we shouldn't ever forget :)

I like the concept, but for some reason I think "press freedom" should stand out more.

Make it white?

I agree w/ Gracifer...I would think the text should stand out more since that's such a strong point.

I don't think the text is necessary, but if you're going to keep it, I would recommend putting it higher up. Overall though, great design.

I like the text where it is... makes you follow the line.

I think you did a good enough job illustrating your point that you don't need the text.

I think the message is there without the text. It's and important message so kudos for bringing it in! Liking the camera illustrations, sketchy and rough while the wire is solid and unbreakable.

This is hot, I like the colors together too

The press is not as free as people imagine. Every main stream newspaper and tv channel has an agenda to peddle from a certain political stance, usually dictated by their investors. I think this design however has impact and definately gets the message across.

neat idea

did no one else find press freedom rather than freedom of the press a tiny bit jarring? Maybe that's good though, not sure, just stood out to me

Reporters Without Borders use "Press Freedom" but in fact both terms are ok : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_of_the_press

Nice design! Something about the text just doesn't look right....but I'm not sure how to improve it.

Can you add a note pad, pencil, or something other than camera's? I'm giving it a 5 as is. Will buy it with some reference to the written word (other than the text in the barb wire)

Love the design, thanks for the reminder. =)
Freedom isn't free.

I love the concept, but maybe on an ash or charcoal-y colour, with the cameras and such in black, and the text in red?
I'd buy it this way, too, though, great work.

Cool :) I'd like it on black or a different colour though maybe.

I really, really like this design. Alot

I really like the whole thing, even though (w/out being rude) I feel there are more important freedoms [or lack there of] in other countries we should be worring about.

I score it a $4 - I'm a toughy...

I like it but i agree with their are more important freedoms to worry about i would buy it though it is a nice design
kilraen
kilraen on May 10 '07
Since I'm a friend of treebeans and I worked with her on this design, I can say that I totally agree that there are more important freedoms to worry about.

The fact is that we can't talk about all the freedoms in just one design and we chose to focus on one freedom at a time (one per design).

So you will see other designs about these other freedoms soon from treebeans (by herself or with my help) :-)

By the way, thanks for all your comments!
