I definitely wouldn't wear a hyperdermic (sp?) needle on my shirt, but that has to do with phobias, not your design. I like the idea, and I really like the simplicity of the execution. I would keep both the text and the horizontal placement. You make a good point. Or a dull point, depending on how you look at it... (Pun...sorry.)

I just got back from the break room getting coffee. I'd buy it from Starbucks if I could, though I prefer Tim Hortons any day. I used to hate coffee. Then my life changed and I had to exist on 3 hours of sleep a day. Coffee is what keeps me from falling asleep on the job, falling asleep behind the wheel, etc. Therefore it keeps my bills paid and keeps me alive. For that, I love coffee. I love sleep more, but no one's figured out a way to sell that yet.

What would be cool would be several shots, a starbucks one, maybe a redbull one, or if you want to get real political have one filled with oil and write OPEC on it

Take away the text. It stands out to much and takes the eye away from the design its self.
And I find that the design its self is a bit over rated as in to bashing companies such as Starbucks. |

This isn't meant to be political or anything like that, I'm personally into starbucks, I just think its cool how a company packages and advertises a product in such a way that gets us all 'addicted'. Don't get me wrong i love my tall skinny misto with hazelnut syrup!!! hehe Thanks for all the ccomments.

The text is what's politically loaded. You could probably get rid of it for enhanced comical effect. Frankly, I would just put in the starbucks logo.

Well, while I hate the whole Starbucks globalization thing (fair trade or not), there are MUCH bigger targets to shoot at, which is a fact that is influencing my possible enjoyment of this effort. Admire you for taking a stand, but too easy a target for my tastes...
oh, and I think hypo needles have a little angle to them at the end, not just flat |

Again, i'm not making any political statements here, I think starbucks are very clever how they have dominated the coffee market (at least here in the uk) by making their coffee fashionable. I'm just picking up on that; but thanks for everyones comments anyways.

Actually I did a logo a long time ago for a fake coffee company called "Evil Empire" coffee, based on the Starbucks logo, with a devil in place of the mermaid on the logo. I made it all red instead of green but I liked it. I had a shirt made up just for myself!

Maybe a shringe (sp) with the well as a coffee cup would be better. Not text would be good too. If you made if obvious. A more dynamic angle would help.

You might want to add a highlight to the end of the syringe.
Also, I recommend omitting the text, but this is a clever idea. All of my friends are addicted to Starbucks. |
