The thumb should definitely be in front of the beard. Looks off with the beard line in front of the thumb. Also, the capital B on beard looks off. This is hella funny but the execution could be better. 4

since all your subs basically look the same i can't imagine this taking you more than five minutes to make. I know it's your "style" but every design with a person in it looks almost exactly the same and it's quite boring. The whole random thing doesn't really work when you're TRYING to be "random".

If you wanna have a bitchfest, could you please make it wittier? And...before someone gets nasty and wants to rip me a new one (I've noticed a trend), no, I haven't submitted anything because everything I draw sucks too much, so you're ALL better than me, okay? My advice is rarely very helpful, just my thoughts/observations/opinions. I was going to say that I liked the line through the thumb because it's unexpected. And I was going to say that beards are icky but funny...great on Santa, but a complete turn-off otherwise. I was also going to mention that I've known two large women with full beards that they quit bothering to shave...and one who had a soul patch/goatee thing going on. I don't think it made them more popular, but it definitely made it tough to talk to them--had to make a distinct effort NOT to let the eyes drift down and marvel at all that wild hair. Bananaphone, I think it's great that you have your own style, and I look forward to seeing it like I look forward to seeing all the phenomenal artists who post subs here. However, you really seem to take the bait on negative comments. Yikes. Now I'm done whinging (yes, it's a real word). |

bananaphone on Apr 26 '07 I have no idea wimbels, they usually have a seperate page for girls and guys for each tee though. You might have some luck with the smallest guys size if you are desperate, their tees are slim fitting and nice fabric. They don't use AA btw, but its very similar.

Don't mind me, but I personally think you'd be a better person if you learned to deal with criticism. But that's just my opinion. The design is nice and it has a definite style to it, which I think the infamous thumb-line is part of. I have no issues with it. My only concern is that the accompanying text, (the "Bearded people are very hearty," etc.) is funnier than the actual t-shirt and yet isn't on the tee. ): I agree with whoever said it should be on the back or something, because it's hilarious. You get my $5, plus some complimentary bitching. (: |

personally i'm not a fan of this one which does not make it a bad design it's just my opinion... i like the concept but not the finish. Matts style works fantastically for some designs, and he has shown he is capable of changing his style to better suit certain situatons when neccesary. It is different look from the main stream which is a good thing, and we all know he is often blunt to the point of rudness so if you dont like his design it's fine to say so but in this situation it is important to critique the design and not the designer, save the other personal shit for the blogs and/or your inner monologue. Threadless has a real problem with design being judged on who created it and not on merrit... so score this as you see fit and move on... i give it a 2:)

J-ray, I am not trying to be mean, but you obviously don't understand art. All artists have a unique style and somewhat of a pattern in the way they work. Monet's paintings look alike; anyone with half of a brain can see that. I think that Banannaphone's artistic ability is unique to him and it is his style which cannot be compared to the likes of other artists. All of the Simpson' characters draw the same, and they make millions. :] Maybe he could change the way he draws; who knows? Maybe he just doesn't want to because it is his signature way. I enjoyed this shirt so I looked at your other drawings, banannaphone, and I must say that the “Let’s Make Art” makes me awfully sad. Poor birdy. |
