Good lord, I HATE that poem.

They turned it into a song for Chorus in the 5th grade, and I can't even LOOK at Blake after that nonsense.

Yeah, I know, (I had forgotten!) but I used the traditional spelling anyway. It was brought up in the crit, but I didn't know if changing it would just cause confusion. You know a bunch of people saying "hey, 'tyger' is spelled with an 'i'."

Good design, i would wear it if you had a few lines of the poem in almost the same colour as the shirt so you wouldn't notice it at a glance.

I've seen an alarming number of tigers, and I've only been a member for three days! But out of them all, this one's probably my favorite. Love the angle.

badzenThen don't vote on it. If you're tired of tigers why did you even bother to look? You can see from the thumbnail that's what it is. Honestly, there have been like a million squids, but when a good one comes along, I treat it like a good design. Sorry for the soap box people, I just get irritated when people are all "this is over used/too many of this subject matter..." If you don't like it that's fine, obviously not everyone will, but please at least be constructive. Thanks to everyone that likes it and everyone that doesn't but has at least said why and left some helpful comments!

I like it for a kids' shirt, I like it a lot. I love the William Blake reference too. I would definitely buy this for my little boy, $5 for that (he loves growly tigers). Colors are fab.

But I sympathize with the people who chime in when a design idea is getting too much play. They're not saying it to be mean, they're saying it because maybe it needs to be said.

When I see a sub that's using an element I've seen over and over again, it's got to be absolutely stellar for me not to knock it down a notch for lack of originality. Some themes are so worn out that I simply can't conscience giving them the same score as someone who has put the time and effort into thinking of something new and surprising.

Plus it's hard to be constructive when you're essentially saying, "um, nice idea, but maybe it should be something else entirely?" It comes off as snide.

Mephitine Yeah, I understand. I mean I've felt the same way as far as "Oh not another_____." At the same time, I don't think it's always a lack of originallity as it seems that subjects seem to run in packs. Honestly, sometimes I wonder if the crit boards really help spawn that. Also, people try to make old ideas new and it doesn't always pan out. So sorry if I came off as being a jerk in my reply to badzen or acting as if I was something special, because I really don't want to come across that way. Anyway, thanks for your comment.
