When I just signed up for a threadless account I found it just a funky phenomenon. After some time of roaming around here the amount of stolen designs, the sometimes shallowness of the comments and the weird submissions caught my attention. This illustration is based on that; basically it's a tag cloud consisting out of illustration for eight categories I came up with;
something is not right; either the concept s#cks with a great illustration or vv.
anonymously nice; first timers without a filled in profile, who are you!?
moooh; comments listed don't make any sense, critique of no use, why bother putting it up?
busted; stolen, traced, based on previous (threadless) design.
total crap; microsoft paint? blind illustrator? monkey?
semi pro; professional looking illustration, members with a history of good ones.
docter docter; professional designs done by professional illustrators/designers/graphicists.
pls no more: cliché designs, commented PLS NO, like tapes, panda's squids...

No it's yours to see, and who knows I'll be going on a holiday after all... with a suitcase full of brand new tees...

I suppose I'll have to stick it in the "something's not right" category. I like your site analysis, but the whole thing really seems more like something you would put on a blog rather than wear on a tee. The amount of time it took me to process the information sitting at my computer is entirely unacceptable for something on an article of clothing.

Actually, I want the 8 categories to be bigger in the middle and the icons to be smaller. I do think it is clever, though.

I think most of you are missing the point here. I don't think this design was ever meant to make its way onto a shirt, vdn is sharing his view in a way that assures an audience. Nice critique on the "community", i think i'll go fill in my profile now.

I find the design itself quite interesting as it's a nice mish-mash of random objects, but if it was meant to be understandable as a 'critique', even to the Threadless community, it's too much to take in. I dig it though, first time I've seen someone do this.

I think this is a great idea and well executed. A bit too specific to threadless perhaps, and unlikely to be printed as a result, but I like it. I'm going to give you a $5 because I would wear it. Good effort.

I'm trying to read 3 words more everytime the explanation runs by. Presentation is a bit fast. Interesting concept.

ALL - There's a "Hold On A Sec" button on the bottom left.
Hit it when it's on the image you want, and the presentation will stop long enough for you to read it.

you're thinking too hard. 99% of the people who see me throughout the day have no idea about the politics of threadless, and I would get tired of explaining.

i almost liked it. but your flash animation is so jumbled i couldn't quite see it. next time put a pause button in.

hee hee. nice commentary on this site. as a new member with no filled out page, it's nice to know people are keeping an eye on me. and i think that the icons on the side of the shirt should be larger. the composition/positioning of the larger icons over the threadless logo is great. and i disagree with travelingtoes - the spelling is very tongue-in-cheek (grammar/spelling isn't something that the internet encourages). keep it. if only to cause a stir amongst the irritable members of this site.
