Well actually these flyers are very much 80s , just not necessarily mainstream 80s.

They'd be more identifiable to those who were into hiphop during the 80s and even then you'd have had to be very entrenched in it to recognise the flyers. They are very area specific as they really only circulated in the NY area. check thisthis site out for more examples.

This loves comp's theme is indeed very broad, but as the movie is about a break dancer I thought I'd concentrate my subs on that aspect of the 80s. Seemed to me kind of stupid to do a new wave 80s shirt when the movie is about hiphop
