Awesome, but you could pick a more stereotypical looking space invader shape. It took me a long time to figure out what that was, and a lot of people might just not get it. Perhaps if you used one of these sprites: http://secure.giantrobot.com/images/products/2005-11-16/28.jpg

i know what you're referencing, but something about this reminds me of a swastika. there's not actually one in there, but i can't shake the feeling.

I saw swastika when the page loaded, so maybe the invader needs tweaking - maybe suggesting the shapes that the old LCD screens used to use (like on a calculator) . I agree, the green could be tricky - what about having the color kind of drained, like the power has just died? As it's ground level, a lower placement might work to give some more sky space above.

Love it. I didn't instantly recognise the Space Invader but I just assumed it was one, so it worked. I love the way the boy is just mildly amused that he shot it down.

i think its just the starkness. the blunt, black shapes. i didnt really get swastika from this, but i can see where they're coming from.
i like the idea of having some green drain out, pixelstill. really good concept though. |
