I agree with the above. It's a cool idea, but the My Little Pony isn't really era-appropriate. Maybe if it was My Pet Monster eating a MLP...but using either character could probably get you into some legal trouble.

I don't really care about the accuracy of the theme; I like the design, so it gets a $5.

This is really cute, but I think a Care Bear would have been a bit easier recognised. The colors on the bottom, all the way!

Disco was 70's. MLP/Care Bears were both introduced in 1981/1982. And of course, disco never really died...it still lives and thrives. There was a time when it was cool to claim to hate it, but there will always be songs that we can't help but love (YMCA, I Will Survive, Dancing Queen, etc). At any rate, wikipedia states that music historians regard the baseball promotional prank on July 12, 1979 as the definitive "death of disco" moment...so even if you believe it died, the death occurred prior to 1980. Not to be picky or anything...I mean, hey, I love Adam Ant and don't care much for MLP myself, but the images just don't seem to fit, historically speaking. However, the pastel rainbow, that's spot on. My little sister had a "soft sculpture" pastel rainbow on her wall during the early 80's. Maybe you could submit this in the regular contest instead, since the design has so many admirers?
