I feel like the guy's hair should be white with a black outline. Right now, his head is blending with that circle.

Disco was still popular in the early 80s, but it was more of a 70s leftover, wouldn't you think? At any rate, afros and bellbottom pants were definitely a 70s thing.

Yeah, in the eighties it was possible to get beat up for listening to disco. The underground music scene in the eighties (and even the late seventies) was in part a backlash against disco. That musical transition/conflict could make an interesting source for a design.
