interesting, but this design suggests some sort of duality... and why would these two scientists represent it? I don't think you need the names running down the sides. or the line down the center.

definately work on the text. A different font? I would change the placement, but you have something there.

I supose I'm an idiot for asking, but who's Feynman?

two of my all-time favorite people. but why are they juxtaposed on a shirt? if anything, einstein/bohr would've made a lot more sense.

Yeah switch out Feynman for Bohr and incorporate some dice imagery into it... If you want to, I mean.

to answer shawnoc's ? more completely, richard feynman was one of the foremost phsycists of the 20th century...let's try being a little less stuck up, 'k?

Feynman is the unknown Einstein. He is why I went to grad school.

Actually, the duality of Einstein vs. Feynman is represented in the non-conformity of the Classic Einsteinian model of physics vs. Quantum physics and the inability of this science to create a unified model (String Theory non-withstanding), so this shirt makes a lot of sense to me...

...and that's your lesson for today, class...

I forgot to post a message about it originally, so I'll comment now.
In addition to the fact that they are two extremely important scientists in the science community, both were very outspoken about the role that scientists play in the eyes of the public. While Feynman was definitely not as well known as Einstein, he did manage to be in the public eye as a more modern version of the eccentric, statesman scientist. Another aspect of the duality of these persons is the way in which they contributed to scientific thought. The Feynman diagram, which is a useful tool in analyzing quantum interactions, is a departure from the traditional method of numerically or theoretically understanding a problem. Feynman also contributed to a unification of quantum theory with the principle of least action (as his path integral formulation), which is a very cool meta-law, if you like that sort of thing. Both of these additions are very similar to Einstein's contributions in their reverence for the aesthetics of science. And they both happen to be my favorite physicists (much love for my field). As for the image design, I included the names because not enough people would be able t0 recognize Feynman outright, in my experience. Also, the dividing line could be removed, but as I blended the faces together at the seam it begins to look odd, to me. If someone can suggest a location to upload I can post a version without the text or white line for comparison (unless that violates one of the rules).

FEYNMAN WAS HERE!

I like the dividing line but I don't think their names are necessary.

ooh...I just had a thought...people were talking about a change in font, but how about representing the name in greek letters (which are uber important in physics).

How about a white stroke around Feynman's hair, instead of the white box? The box shape is distracting and intersects the FEYNMAN text in an odd way.

It's a shame most people won't recognize Fenyman...I'd love it without the names on the shirt.
