I'm another supporter of the squid. (Although I'm wary of the Colassal Squid... doesn't really roll off the tongue like Giant Squid does.)

Yes, it was some Japanese fishing boat, it died shortly afterwards though I think. Some other guy got some nice footage of one on a camera way down in the depths. Didn't say last time, but I am for sure $5 on this one.

Apparently, if you were to make battered squid rings (Mmm-mm) from a colossal squid, they would be SU tyre sized!
And on another note - how pissed of must the scientists be that figured 'Giant Squids' were as big as they got... Boffin1: Shouldn't we call it the 'resonably big squid' incase another larger turns up? Boffin2: Nah... Personally i can't wait for the Gargantuan Squid to be discovered... |
