I worry about copyright on having his face on the t-shirt but its still amusing.

"What would MacGyver Do?", the shirt with the empty toliet paper roll? I'm sure the copyright will go over ok...

How does copyright work with Threadless? I wouldn't think you'd be able to use anything that's been copyrighted but I've seen a few that have gotten printed (like the Darth Vader one). I dig this one in the orange colour. And I like the type.

well- copyright works with Threadless exactly the same way it works with everything else. :-)

it's tricky. the Vader one (I'm assuming that Glenn's w/the topiary) you get the idea of who it is, but it isn't using a particular image that someone else owns the rights to.

"What would MacGyver Do?" (the shirt with the empty toliet paper roll) is not a copyright issue because nothing in it is copyrighted or trademarked. w/this one it's possible that the person in the image or the person who took the photo it's made from could take exception to it or want royalties.

i just posted a submission for critique on the 80s theme that kind of has the same problem- I want it to look like a particular character & if I changed it enough to be sure it wasn't copying, people wouldn't recognise it.

I guess that's why I just stay away from using anything like that. Better to create something new anyways.
