I really dislike this.

It's hard to look at because of how the halftones and the solids work together. The colors are incredibly hard to look at, "CRYPTID CREW"????...you explained what Cryptid means, but I don't want to explain that to everyone I come into contact with that asks.



There's not much working in this design for me.

pongo, yeh a mystical shape shifting monkey girl. yes. said to turn into a beautiful sexy lady and lure men into the jungle and dine on their flesh! but Pong is just kinda bitchy is all.

yetticorn yay!! this is just cool and cute. goes along with the movie and long live the yetticorn. haha, it's cute that you've got a background story for Pongo, u use her in real life for something? lol, (i understand the life of rp. lol)

nah, i just know these characters...Gilman and Pong, they joined Yeticorn to creat the cryptid crew. (these are characters that can be in anything from product endorsement to cartoons on saturday morning...do they have those anymore?)...Gilman represents any variety of aquatic-bipeds/lizard men...and the Yeticorn is a combination of the unicorn (which is too girly for me) and the yeti, of course. but Pong is based on teh Pongo legend. She's not a killer, she's just got a bad attitude...think B.A. from the A-Team but as a semi-attractive monkey lady.

Okay, if I remind myself that the colours will be slightly less electric when printed then I can accept the jangliness of them, even against the rampant half-toning, but the text unbalances the design and pushes the visual confusion over the edge. I don't think it's necessary and the overall form will be more coherent without it.



As well, the style you've drawn the characters in is not as loose and fun as your earlier work, nor are Yeticorn's sidekicks as interesting as Yeticorn himself. They remind me of the characters added to team adventure cartoons of the eighties in order to stretch the story-telling and merchandising possibilities, but they never got much love at the Toys'R'Us.



Maybe just Yeticorn alone, loosened up and breaking in front of the boombox... or something without Yeticorn at all, but still in the realm of eighties cryptozoology/paranormal lore that you can get loose and kooky with?

I was composing my comment as you posted yours, so just a bit more: I think Gilman and Pong probably have the weight of story for you that gives them heft as characters, but without it, they don't have enough detail to distinguish them from other aquatic heroes/anthropomorphs. I didn't even notice right away that Pong had a tail and wasn't just a girl with a slightly odd face.

yeh, pongo is teh only one i'm not too happy about, but since she's a shapeshifing ladymonkey i can let her be like this for now...gilman i'm quite happy with and is mor consistent with the style of the yeticorn.



my next sub is a lot easier on the eyeballs and features only the yeticorn.

Yeticorn doesn't have to be in every design. For one thing, the voters are fickle and backlash could ensue. I'd like to see what else you can do too.

he's not...i do the yeticorn stuff under this name...other stuff under...YOU'RE SNEAKY! you'll have to do some research to find out.
