About my design
by vixyish
And we who listen to the stars, or walk the dusty grade,
Or break the very atoms down to see how they are made,
Or study cells, or living things, seek truth with open hand.
The profoundest act of worship is to try to understand.

--Cat Faber, "The Word of God"

I love that song -- and the design is cool.

Wow.
And I mean $5.

Although I'm not a Christian by any means, I find this design to be very awesome. I like the message it sends and I'm sucker for stained glass - I think it's very well executed.

5 and a very possible buy.

P.S. I would like a color shirt somewhere between the ones you chose - periwinkle or something. I think that would make the colors of the design stand out better.

Not that cream t-shirt.

And perhaps a different placement.

the telescope kind of looks like a megaphone, but otherwise very neat!

Sinareo-- Thank you! I'm not necessarily one either. It's sort of an answer to the notion in our culture that science and religion have to be mutually exclusive. The idea is that the process of learning and discovery is itself sacred; that learning is as much a way of celebrating creation as religion is.

I did think about a light blue shirt, actually, but when I tried it out I didn't like it as much. I assumed, though, that if it got picked, the Threadless staff would choose whatever color they thought best.

LeRoi-- the shirts pictured are royal (dark blue) and sagestone (grey), from the Threadless template.

That is such a cool, original-looking design for a shirt. I've never seen a pattern like that. Definitely 5$. I just agree that the background tee color needs to be adjusted somewhat, because neither of them do true justice to this design. Great idea!

Yeah, I was saying that its message can be accepted by any perspective or religious opinion, which adds to the sheer briliance. It really is a great design with an excellent message that can be easily picked up at first-glance, so I'm keeping my eye out for this, hoping that it gets printed (fingers crossed).

I mean, there are no skulls, no octopi, and no text, so it's already off to a great start with the Threadless masses...

Beautiful. I would request that both t-shirts be in the deep blue. All too often, the male t-shirt is in a really nice color, and the girly t-shirt is in a not-as-good color just so that they're different colors. It's ok for both to be the same color! It looks really gorgeous with that color background.

It's really gorgeous. Deep blue would be great. And I honestly wish you could ADD the text, small on the back or something, but the design is really lovely.

The text is always on a threadless shirt, inside the collar.

Regarding the design -- I think it's swell.

I like the idea. Nice that u tried a different treatment altogether. In fact, the treatment by itself talks about God's presence without actually showing Him at all. Nice. $5.

Absolutely beautiful. My personal preference would be for the design to be slightly smaller but I would buy it either way.

I definately think you should put that quote you said on the back of the shirt - i love it! so beautiful.

I love everything about it but my eyes can't quite make out the telescope; all I can see is a guy holding a megaphone or a beer bottle...maybe clear that up visually, just a tad, so I can buy it? :)

He's not holding it at all. It's set up on legs on the balcony railing, and its eyepiece is hidden from view by his head. He's not looking through it at the moment; he's standing between us and it.

I really love the concept, but maybe drawn onto the shirt differently, it looks kinda lacking.
