Science has become an integrated part of our lives. We encounter it in every seconds of our existence.

hm. I really feel like there is way too much going on here. I think that was kind of part of the point, but I just can't get past how...everywhere it is.

I'm sure a lot of people will feel differently though.

I think there's too much going on in this shirt, and there's nothing unifying all the elements.

I reckon thats kinda what makes it cool. The colors match well and grafix are pretty cute! : D

My take... the busy-ness is all part n parcel. Although there is a lot of action I think it still works and is clear enough visually to figure out what's going on... I really like it:-)

this is fantastic...
unsure about the yellow, but, that can easily be changed...
yellow just isn't a flattering colour on all people.
$5 anyway though!

I would like it if the equations were corrected.

The axis labeled "d" (I'm assuming for distance) should be an "a" for amplitude.

And the equation is not c=f(wavelength)... the "c" should be a "v" for velocity.

Other than that.. cute.

LOVE IT. your colors are great (not too bright and fake looking like some of these around here occasionally), but the color shirt that the guy is wearing is different than on your original design. i like the darker yellow from the original design.
$5 despite the shirt color

Hi, i just want to clarify the equation:
I put "a" as amplitude in the axis. Trust me, it is not ment to be "d". The equation is not c=f(wavelength)... it is c = frequency times lambda. Both v (as you suggested) and c are commonly used to describe the speed of sound in scientific literature. After all, they are just symbols.

Cool design! This is really clever! .

But maybe change the colours. It's a bit too brash, all the orange and the yellow.

But other than that, it's great!

NO DEER.
Malkin
Malkin on Mar 17 '07
Hehe, thanks for clarifying on the equation bits. I was all "Heeey, it's /v/ = (f)lambda, but yeah. I'm done. This is real cute, I think the message is clear and comes across very well.

I have to agree with the no deer. After the whole huntinglovesthreadlessblahblahblah, I don't want to see a deer on a shirt ever again. But that's threadless for you.

I think its absolutely beautiful an innocent. reminds me that science and invention isn't always used for.. ahem.. wars on terrorism? i dotn know if that has anything to do with anything... but i love the shirt. beautiful and innocent. I'd buy it.

I didn't get this for awhile. Then i remember my physics. GREAT DESIGN!!

But you may want to choose a different colour tee so that the colours you chose for your design can stand out more. i had trouble seeing the trees, dna etc.

it needs breathing room, right now there's lots happening and our eyes get dragged back and forth trying capture it all. i really like the curve/graph you've got going, it draws the eyes well, but things are too cluttered...
it's certainly a nice start.

I love the idea of a waveform, and I like the shadowed elements in grey. I would get rid of the green atoms and the bunnies to help with the busy complaints.

I don't know if this is too much of an edit, but when I originally looked at the image, I thought that the point of the shirt was going to be sort of the ups-and-downs of discovery and science. For example, put the little kid picking something up off the ground as the first image, then something instead of the deer (maybe a slightly older child with a lightening bug or something?), and then something to replace the 4th image.

I know, that's probably way different than you had in mind, and despite everything I just said, I still really love the design.
rachelws
rachelws on Mar 19 '07
So I just looked at the picture again, and I am changing my suggestion slightly: I would just switch the first little girl with the 4th (left to right) and find something to replace the deer.

Great flow on the shirt. Looks like it's actually intended to be worn. I love the colors, too. More negative space would be nice. Even if all it took a simple revision on the trees. A nice stroke/no fill might just do the trick. 4

This is lovely - I'd like wallpaper like this for my hallway - but the shirt would do -

How many times do I have to tell people...you should never make deer part of a trough of a sinusoidal wave. I like it :)

"Both v (as you suggested) and c are commonly used to describe the speed of sound in scientific literature. After all, they are just symbols."

Though a pretty nice design, though this was painful to read. c is never used to describe the speed of sound, it represents the speed of light. (v=c in a vacuum for electromagnetic waves, but this is clearly not the case if you are talking about sound)
...not to even mention the generalized case which you would actually need, but oh well....
