I hope somebody points out what I told you in the Critiques section =)

hey man, you know what J-Ray told you in the critiques section
bobmi
bobmi on Mar 19 '07
how did the cat go from hanging horizontal to vertical so quickly, when it took him longer previously? I think it is cute, though.
Dandelionbreeze
Dandelionbreeze on Mar 19 '07
do you? ;)

I'll point it out before someone else has the chance to chew it up. J-Ray has also submitted a design that involves a parachuting cat ("Catatroopers", with a cat parachuting around to catch some birds). I see this as a different idea, and I hadn't seen his when I designed this, so I feel comfortable submitting it anyways :)

theequalizer on Mar 19 '07
You google image-searched that image.
J-Ray
J-Ray on Mar 19 '07
dandelion: gotta give you credit for drawing that parachute.. it looks much better than mine!
bobmi
bobmi on Mar 19 '07
I'm also kind of wondering where the parachute came from, because in the last frame it is just suddenly there and completely unfurled.
Dandelionbreeze
Dandelionbreeze on Mar 19 '07
theequalizer- I actually used videos as reference

J-Ray- thank you :)

bobmi- I kind of agree, but I did want for it to randomly come out of nowhere.

misaochan on Mar 19 '07
hahaha, NICE! kudos on the randomness - $5

I think the parachute is like a "go-go-gatchet" parachute. It's attached, but you don't know it, until the cat desperately needs it. ( : That's my take, atleast.

I love your take, esther :D That's what I was going for, but I wasn't clever enough to think of the line "go-go-gadget parachute!"

I think this is adorable, I would just change the colors if I were you. I would buy it though!

YOU LIED!!! I WATCH THE DICOVERY CHANNEL, DON'T FEED ME THIS PROPAGANDA!!!

funny, but like the others said above the parachute seems to just appear, maybe the cat should be wearing a jump pack on its back.

theequalizer: I'm assuming you googled "falling cat" and saw the similarity between the second image and this one. Yeah, they're similar, but falling cats look the same when they are twisting their bodies upright. And if you look closely, this is not the same as that picture. There are lots of photographs of falling cats on the internet; it's not plagiarism.

i love it! maybe the back side could be the secret to their 9 lives? :)
mushrush
mushrush on Mar 20 '07
I agree with the handful of folks who have mentioned the immediate appearance of an unfurled parachute.

I think it would be funnier to have the parachute location and everything revealed by the fast photography effect.

I still like it a lot though, and I agree it's a totally different application of cats + parachutes than j-ray's design. They can peacefully coexist I think.
Willish
Willish on Mar 20 '07
Ah but cats are all about mystery so why wear a pack? Then its obvious what would happen. The sudden appearance of the chute shows cats agile nature.

I love it, but perhaps on a different coloured shirt. Like black.

I also think the cat looks cuter facing it's left so perhaps swap sides with the design?
Thomas Window Paine
Thomas Window Paine on Mar 20 '07
it would probably work just as well if you just had the parachuting cat.
wooingjuliet
wooingjuliet on Mar 20 '07
Agree with ThomasWindowPaine -- lose all the flipping cats. Keep the parachuting cat in the corner. That implies the rest of it on its own, I think.

Hey Dandelion, we should do a mashup of our two designs... your cat, my birds, plus fork and knife =) what do you think?

i think it's cute, but the colours don't quite match my tastes, but at the same time, i'm just one person out of all the people who critiqued so far...

I'd like it better if it was just the cat w/ the parachute.

We love it just the way it is, good luck! p.s. they should do a kids size too

i don't care what anyone else says.

I really really like it you get a $5 from me. I wouldn't mind seeing the design with him having a backpack on his back.. but then the concept would change to just a cat skydiving, haha. I love it anyway, great job!

i like how the parachute comes out as a surprise... i wish this were in black

CitizenK on Mar 23 '07
I just don't like the fact that the cat is already facing feet down when the parachute appears. It doesn't make sense because "How Cats Land on Their Feet" would need to have the frame right before the parachute NOT be feet perfectly down. I hope I make sense...

But I ADORE it. $5
kidaro
kidaro on Mar 23 '07
I'd like to see the cat reaching for the rip cord. In fact, that would probably make a great image in itself if done well.
The Good King
The Good King on Mar 23 '07
I think the fact that the parachute suddenly appears makes this a better T. If you saw the whole process it would be fairly dull. The whole idea (i imagine) is that cats are trying to trick you, but this shows what they are actually doing.

I like it very much. Just wish it were on gray rather than light blue...I look so bad in light blue...ah, well. $5 to you anyways, because cat shirts rock.
Dandelionbreeze
Dandelionbreeze on Mar 25 '07
thanks folks. Looking back, I kind of regret not making a black/grey option. I will keep in mind that people like those for future designs.
Zaburino
Zaburino on Mar 25 '07
I really like it with just the parachute appearing in the last frame. There wouldn't be a punchline if you could see it the whole time. $5

FRICKINAWESOME
   FRICKINAWESOME on Mar 26 '07
yeah...just the last cat about to land on the outline of a street would in the center of the tee would get your point across oh so much better and with less clutter. And J-Ray....this shirt and yours have little to nothing to do with one another besides both have pussy all over them. Not bad but could be executed much better.
