The walls of the tunnel look good, but the childishness of the worms spoil it for me. The juxtaposition doesn't really work.

Flying Mouse on Mar 12 '07 I saw the revision. I like how the way you make the background, but the worm still need to put some detail I think, maybe some solid dark shadow like what you did on the background. Then this design could be a winner.

Add some eyes to the worms in the revision. Otherwise, this is pretty good.

I was distracted by my dislike for the worms and almost missed how incredible the background is. The revision is better, but still flattens an otherwise fantastic design. I'm skipping without scoring in hopes of something better n thefuture!

I'd buy as is. I'm fine with the contrasting styles with the knowledge that it was a collaboration, with the exception that I personally would have liked to see more of a 3d look to the snake/worms for light consistency...I think it's great regardless.

Awww, everyone's picking on those cutesy little worms. They do kind of distract from how awesome the art is on everything else though. but if it was just a tunnel, I think it'd be a sucky, meaningless t-shirt.
And the Bioshock theme would be totally lost. I'm gonna skip because I want to give it both high and low marks! |

Simple eyes on the worms; not too cartoony, not sinister. Change the color of the little worm on the ground. That way, he's obviously not the same kind of worm as those coming out of the barrel. Might I suggest a grate at the end of the tunnel.

grayehound on Mar 13 '07 the tunnel is nice, the colors used there really give the sense of light. the worms are okay, tho they neither are cute enough to really like nor interesting enough to stand on their own. the two together look like something taken from a kiddie stickerbook pasted on a photo. that tunnel with a better idea would be a good design

valorandvellum on Mar 14 '07 The idea behind it is really cool... but the clash of the styles is something that could probably be worked on. It might look better if the worms had some of the same texture treatment for shading, and if their facial features were drawn in a more realistic looking form. Either the background needs to be more simple or the worms need to be more detailed (the latter would probably be more preferable). What you have is almost there... if you work it just a little bit more, you could have a print on your hands!

I wouldn't want this shirt if it was just the spooky tunnel.... I dunno why people want to get rid of the worms. Then it'd look good but it'd be super boring. The worms are happy to have found the toxic waste because they were tranformed into giant, sentient creatures, unlike the little worms they were before, all confused and stuff.

And the placement of the patterns is supposed to provide shading, which makes sense with the light...ummmmm yeah.

work on the worms in a simila style to the tunnel then resub, otha than that this looks great. i guess you just need to merge the two styles a little more even though the concept is there

The sad emo people can have their plain old tunnel, the gothickish folks can have their scary worms. and the kids at heart (like me) can have our exciting acid-tripping worms. ;) |

valorandvellum on Mar 15 '07 Don't get rid of the worms! That's the whole point of the design. I think if you just stole some of the texture from the tunnel and placed it on the worms, it would help unify the overall look.
Also, I never saw this in the critiques... but I've also been slacking from threadless a little bit. And don't say that I don't like your designs! I try to comment, but you put out so much I can't keep up! |

this shirt reminds me of Aquateen Hunger Force episode "The Drizzle" in which Shake exposes himself to toxic waste he found in the basement and ends up having a huge green worm thing grow out of his side. anyone?
