About my design

by sonjordan
The classic mind-boggler....well not really, but it does raise some interesting points:

Why is a farmer travelling with a fox?

Can a chicken really decimate an entire bag of grain?

How small is this boat that he can only bring one at a time?

We may never know......

In the meantime: DO AS THE CHICKEN SAYS.....THE POWER OF POULTRY COMPELS YOU....

Many colors and placements to choose from.

Ooh!! I know the answer!
chocofungi
chocofungi on Mar 13 '07
a chicken probably can decimate a bag of grain, yes, seeing as to decimate means to reduce by a tenth

evangelinereed on Mar 13 '07
ahhh! new word! that's so exciting!

on the shirt: i like the idea, but not so much the execution. something about it ... i dunno.

i knew the answer once, and then i forgot, and it has plagued me ever since.

I love this more for the concept than the art but I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

chicken first, then fox, then bring chicken back, then grain leaving chicken behind, then take nothing , then bring chicken.

cute illustration and i like the puzzle. I think it's better centered higher up on the shirt (the one in green), but maybe a little smaller

I like tees that have a story to tell and not just show a pretty picture, so thank you! If it's a riddle even better, although I can imagine it might get on your nerves after a while that people want to tell you the answer or want you to tell them the answer to the riddle...

i always thought decimate meant to reduce to 1/10 of the original not to reduce by one tenth

well done sonjordan

( the fox's nose could go up a tad so it doesn't look like a drip )

Oh man I adore this. $5

This story eluded me for ages when I was in 4th grade. Still does.

The design being farthest up looks best.

The word decimate comes from the Roman army. As punishment, or just to keep fear of disobeying in the ranks, a general could order the legion "decimated" - meaning every tenth soldier would be ordered to be beat to death by the other soliders. It's evolved to mean destroying a large part of something, without annihilating it (total destruction).

as for the sub, love the figures, probably wouldn't wear it because i'd get tired of having to explain the riddle to people. (for those of you who don't know the riddle, the answer is in one of comments!)

Thanks for the comments all!

Yeah...while reflecting on the placement I would have to agree on making it a tad smaller on the shirt probably, I dunno.

I don't have to do a resub for that do I?

I'm slightly bothered by the "xxx" grain. Is it poison, is it meant for "mature" bread... Otherwise fan-freakin-tastic!

Yeah, I think the art needs a little touching up (lek the fox's nose, etc.) But I like the concept and think it's a great idea. I like the positioning of the graphic on the white shirt, but honestly, the background color you have for the large image should be the shirt color - those other ones are meh at best.

I'd never heard of this puzzle before. Very interesting and as strange as it is for a farmer to have any interest in a fox, it's at least more viable than the missing dollar mystery, if anyone's familiar with that one.

thanks for the kind words and constructive comments....

hmmm...the fox's droopy nose doesn't seem too popular, I still like it, but would people prefer it being rounded coming straight out of the tip or pointed like the rest of his muzzle, but make the end black?

Not that I would necessarily change it for a resub, merely curious.

freakin' awesome.
That blonde girl from aus
ohhhh this is good. i like!!!!!
That blonde girl from aus
and the nose? have it rounded still, but anchored from the top rather than the bottom, so it sticks up. i think that'd do it.

The placement should definately be near the bottom of the tshirt! I think that the nose on the fox at the end rather than droppy is a good idea. Nice illustrations.

I vote for: green shirt, top centre placement, slightly smaller design.

Haha, this reminds me of my favourite the Office episode with the teambuilding and they get this task. If this became a t-shirt and I got it, which I probably would, then I'd look at it and laugh because I'd think of that episode. xD
