I really, really like it. The details are awesome - from far away a tree, from closer up little amoebas and a petri dish! I also like the colors.

yes, i agreed with jray, i think its illustrated well and i like the colors, but at the same time, i was like, "thats a hell of lot of bacteria" its the bacteria part that is creepy

Wow! I'm a science student and I had a very similar image in my mind when I read about this contest.... but I couldn't design something this intricate. I love it! Great job!

humble petri dish.
The design is a literal take on the theme of the contest "Science is Culture." The "culture" in this case is being grown in a petri dish in a scientific setting. The tree, which is really a mass of bacteria, stems from the name of the magazine "SEED".
