Well, I see this as one of two things: 1) it's sarcastic, putting down the fact of routine, and in that case it's kind of pretentious. or 2) naive in thinking that people can find 8 hours of social activities every day. You've left a lot of things out. I do appreciate you leaving out the profanity, though. That was a good decision.

its just my thoughts of everyday work and boringness. and social activities include everything you do for your self or for other bla bla bla... and yeah i dont really sleep and work for 8 hours tho, it can be more :P but we live in this 24 hours system rite?

You should make it not add up to 24. Just add a question mark or some random symbol or something, then people will always be asking you what the hells wrong with your shirt. I love those shirts.

yes, the fill in the blank thing is a good idea. but the main point of this shirt is to make a parody of how ironic is people sometimes just waste their time and do nothing.. and the 8 hours of sleep thats the normal people do or best fitted rest time.. 8 hours of work , yeah u know the majority system of working in office is 8 hours, not include if you working over time.. and social activities is all you do with other person or for yourself.. so the message of this opinion ( i don't mention this as a statement ) is .. don't waste your time.. the time is running, do what u like, do what u should do.. and then u can control the system.. not the system control you :)

square as this system may be, i like the shirt. just lose the "the system" text.

suggestions: to "un-square" the meaning, use hours that don't add up to 24. (ie. 14 work, 2 veg, 6 more work, 5 social, 4 sleep)

this reminds me of an Aesop Rock shirt I've seen that said pretty much the same thing accomponied with pictures, not saying you stole it from that, it's just a strange coincidence.

dig the time breakdown (the simplicity and even-ness is what makes it depressing and therefore effective), and don't listen to tesco--i enjoy the tight kerning. my only suggestion is a new color scheme -- those weird primaries (or is it CMY?) on brown don't do anything for me.

it's not about EXACTLY how many hours you work or sleep each day.
it's about the concept of "the system."
creative design, i just wouldn't wear it on a shirt.

Also I think the 8+8+8 breakdown is fine theway it is, because it makes you think, "HEY WAIT, I don't get 8 hours of sleep, I don't get 8 hours of social activities. I work 12 frickin hours, spend 2 hours commuting back and forth to work, spend 2 hours running errands..."
