Very cool. But it makes me realize that people would be spending an awful lot of time staring at my chest in order to look at the detail and follow the change reaction.
But other than the uncomfortable attention I would get, I love it a lot! Very very sweet. |

cool, but it seems to me there is some weird stuff going on with the stuff at the top right. The way it looks to me, there is a chord hanging from the ceiling that does nothing and the bread isn't at its center of gravity

0Jim0 on Feb 28 '07 Alpha. I don't know if you will see this; but if you are referring to the post behind the balloon, it's there to stop the balloon from moving back when the fan turns on. It wouldn't work other wise ;)
the other comment about the bread is true but it needs to be that way. It's held up by the rope (that will get burnt) the main support is the top rope so it will just flip down and in. Wait a minute... is this all so necessary? just sit back and enjoy (please) Thanks!! |

really cool i like it a lot but i'm trying to figure out how the rope/ toast part works. what is that thing hanging down what does it do and which rope burns?

This reminds me of a Rube Goldberg Project i'm doing in Science right now [For those of you who don't know Rube Goldberg, he was a cartoon artist that made simple things... difficult.]

0Jim0 on Mar 01 '07 tinahyena - the first rope gets burnt by the magnify glass (x3 I might add) and falls as the second burns, dropping the weight which pushes the toaster leaver down.

stoked - the magnifying glasses burn through 2 ropes. One drops the toast and one drops a weight...to turn on the toaster.

reminds me of a computer game i used to play...The incredible machine. Where you place contraptions on the screen and link them together with other contraptions to do something at the end. now that I think about it...this is exactly like the game the same contraptions in the game are on this shirt.

Ol' Rube would be proud indeed. I just wonder if the toast still burns? Given the complexity of the design, I'm glad you went with a simple monochromatic scheme for the device. I think I like brown on blue the best.
