Where would Science be if we never came up with any bright ideas? Based on the periodic table of elements; its one of the first things we learn about in science class!
For some reason, when saving as a GIF, the lightbulbs became slightly blurry, in the original, the resolution is much better. Enjoy!

Very nice, but I much prefer it on an oatmeal color (as in the display) as opposed to the light blue shirt you show it on. Good work!

Frank, the different colours of lightbulbs show the different categories on the periodic table, and the design is set up like the periodic table.

I agree with separating the non metals from the metalloids. I also agree that the natural colour is better than the light blue. Great shirt though, I give it $5!

Yes, please do seperate the nonmetals from the metalloids. That'd be nice.

Not bad, but seems a little clip-arty for me.

I think it's pretty boring to be honest, but then I'm not a science type person so maybe it's lost on me.

Thanks for the awesome comments! I did actually have the nonmetals, metalloids, noble gasses etc separated but it got into more colors than allowed so I wound up keeping it to a more simple style. The lightbulb is hand drawn by me, not clip art. I tried hand drawing each one individually but it took away from the uniform style of the periodic table. I do like the oatmeal background with the navy, dark brown, mustard, and burgundy bulbs the best too!

I like the blue shirt, actually. I don't know. This shirt has filled a heretofore unknown void in my life. Let's get this printed.

Cool idea, I didn't twig to it until I read your comment though. I don't think it'd be understood too easily.

if each lightbulb had something unique about it, this would be cooler, but right now, it needs something
bluewater74
bluewater74 on Mar 01 '07
well I was thinking of throwing in a few compact fluorescent bulbs in there when I designed it, but it took away from the big picture :)
Again, the periodic table of lightbulbs is symbolic of science in general as full of ideas, not each individual element.. thanks for all the awesome comments!

Maybe it is my ignorance of chemistry (I hated the subject at school) but without the title I didnt have a clue what it was...
