This is a cool design but I would prefer it without the R$1,99 sign, i think it makes it culturally specific which might not work here. Just a suggestion.

There are nothing wrong with a sign. It really exist, and if you don't know it, it's because you have a cultural limitation. There is a world around U.S.A.

A WORLD OUTSIDE THE USA? WHAT?
Perhaps you could explain the sign? I like it but I'd also like to know what the significance is - nostalgia? humor? |

R$ is the symbol for Brazil's currency, the real. and instead of decimals to denote cents, they use commas.

That exists in the US as well. Almost everything is priced as $xx.99 and as for the R$1,99 stores, we have things called "Dollar Stores" where most things are $0.99 or $1

Oh heck yeah it's true for America! I'm reminded of the great philosopher Randell from the movie CLERKS: "You ever notice that all the prices end in nine? Damn, that's eerie..."

i love the fact that it is priced that way. i just learned about that in german and now i think it is clever!
