i frittered away my science and history classes on doodles but i seem to remember hearing that time is a fluid construct and history repeats himself. also, i think columbus figured out that the earth is a sphere and not a snake, but maybe this isn't earth.

ok - so it goes: eden (?!) - dinos - ice age - aliens (?) - fire - egypt - modern civilization - fire - end of humans - a somewhat weedier eden (?) - - - - - - actually i do like it (despite the eden reference ), slate and army green look good - - - - - - 2 things i might have done differently - make the curves mimic a mobius strip (time/space continuum thingy - like a ribbon twisted into a figure 8) - and/or show oro borus (snake biting it's own tail - symbolizing cyclical nature of life)

i should note that it's actually close to a fiugre 8 anyway, and the mouth and tail are adjacent - so in a way it does reference those 2 without being really obvious

the "aliens" are meant to suggest the dawn of man (emergence from the cave). i definitely didn't mean to imply eden, although i think it's open to interpretation. the weedy areas are just meant to represent a time period without sentient life. i guess i should have thrown in a trilobyte after all :) as for the overall shape, i liked the snake explicity because it added another layer of meaning (i.e., could our world be the size of an atom within another creature?) i did think about feeding the tail back in, but i wanted to imply that the new world created would be unique in its own way, an evolution of sorts. thanks for all the good feedback, everyone. you are all my valentines! particularly everyday astronaut ;) |

Great selection of colors
I'm not picking up on anything cyclical in the design regarding history. It looks like it starts at the head and ends at the tail. I like how you transitioned the rivers near the pyramids into the skies over modern city buildings. The earth of course isn't a snake. It's a doughnut someone placed on their pet rabbit's head. The internet told me so. :P |
