I love everything except the typeface. I'm not objecting to the words, mind you, just the execution. For something like this, why not hand-letter the type? It would be much more organic. It always bothers me when multiple instances of the same letter appear and are indentical, making it's obvious that it's a font, when the whole point of the font in the first place was to look rough and "handmade." A'course, you could outline the font and tweak it manually, which would work too. The illustration takes time, energy, dedication to detail . . . the type should too! Otherwise the two halves of this whole don't seem to match, especially when they both have equal visual weight. (Whoa . . . sorry this turned out to be so long! Just a personal bugbear of mine.)

r.o.b.o.t.i.c.octopus on Feb 10 '07 i picke dthe best font for the job...dispite being good at crafting images, hand written lettering is not a strong suit for me...alas i will do that in my next submission..just you wit. bu this font seemed to work best regardless of the repeat letters.

r.o.b.o.t.i.c.octopus on Feb 15 '07 hmatter, not a knock of but a style homage...i was looking at his work and saw a painting that was rendered (with much more detail than mine) in this style...the p[ainting was a dragon head. so i figured out how to do it with pen and ink and photoshop and applyed that style/technique to my own very recent character: the yeticorn. the things in common with Biskup's yeti is that they are both yetis. and that's it. my style, while in the same neigborhood, is not from the same house as his. i live 3 blocks over and in a much cruddier part of the neighborhood than Tim Biskup. his place is ritzy.

FRICKINAWESOME on Feb 16 '07 Well...this yeticorn has gone over just a tad sweeter for you than the last yeticorn plus meaningless text debacle of your other sub! I really like the shadow coloring on the creature and the whole design smacks of style, but there's something a bit Napolean Dynamite "Lygar" about this whole concept which rubs me the wrong way. However i would not mind to see this printed on Threadless as it is exquisitly done.
