Remember, it's printed on a shirt, the colors won't be light beaming out of a screen at you, and so it shouldn't hurt the eyes. :) Thanks for the comments so far everyone!

I like the design a lot, but that particular green design on red shirt is pretty frustrating for us red/green colorblind folk.
The green shirt works really well, though. |

Couldn't see it at first x_x; I could on the green after a bit but it looked more like an elephant breaking through the jungle *shrug*

Red and green are complimentary colors which means they are read by the same parts of the eye (hence red/green colorblindness!) which means that those eye-parts are constantly switching on and off when the colors border eachother. That's why it hurts to look at them. They "vibrate" in graphic design speak.

^^ technically red/cyan, or magenta/green, are complimentary combinations.. also yellow/blue and orange/blue-cyan. Indeed, we see light in RGB, and cones have separate Green and Red sensitive pigments. Vibration is not as much an issue printed on a shirt, since the light reaching your eyes is much less than when coming out of a computer screen, and there is much interference as a result. But yes, I'm having a little fun with you eyes! hehehe

Complementary colors have nothing to do with being "read by the same parts of the eye." People have cones that are called red, blue and green. Red and green are actually read by completely separate parts of the eye (two different cones). These cones are not "constantly switching on and off." In fact, looking at a single color for a long time causes pigment bleaching in the cones, which leads to decreased sensitivity to that color after prolonged exposure.

Very interesting MooseDinner thanks for the lesson. But how about that these colors just don't look good? And they remind me of Christmas.
My advice: Cream on Dark Brown or Light Green on Salmon Otherwise gr8 |
