"A New Car!!"
If The Price is Right existed in the year 1910, it would probably look something like this.

I know the microphone is a bit of an anachronism, but I feel it is a pretty recognizable item in Price is Right history. Also, the Price is Right models represent fashion trends from the years 1908 and 1927. The Ford Model T was manufactured between these years, according to Wikipedia.

The design is shown on Natural, which gives it a vintage appearance.

Enjoy!!

So according to Wikipedia, microphones were invented before 1910, so I guess its ok! I'm not sure if they would have been so slender though..

Click the link below for a larger version of the design with a few minor changes (numbers on the wheel, wheel base, announcer's shoe).

I like the vintage! Not a big fan of natural...Maybe light brown?

I think I would like it better if the lady in the car was wearing a 1920's outfit like the other two, just because it seems like kind of a mish-mash of years...not that anyone would notice, I guess. :) But as a lover of game shows and history, I definitely like the idea.

i like that the "showgirls" seem so plain in modest dresses. isn't that the Price is Right logo (or some variation) on the doors/curtains to either side? maybe move the lady out of the way to give the recognition factor a little bump... nice job

Thanks for the early comments! And the closest I could get to a light brown was khaki, which I felt was a little too dark for what I had in mind. However, I'll see what I can do!

I would have both ladies in 1920s era clothes (maybe one or both with those flapper head bands that are so recognizable) and this would be a 5$. the woman in the car is too old-fashioned. Cars weren't really around yet when women dressed like that. for now, a 4 for the execution, despite LOVING the concept.

I hope most people aren't voting this down because the lady in the car.. I suppose I could resubmit it with the change, but would it make that big of a difference? I would hate for this not to get printed because of it.

I wish that the " A new car" logo was a part of the actual design. I don't know if it would make sense or not, but I would like it better.

i like it. i agree about hte lady in the car comments, but i think it's fine, it would just be better if she was a flapper of some sort.

also, maybe just me being nit picky, but the microphone cord just disappears into his leg, so if you do resub, i think it would be cool to just continue the microphone cord into the background.

You mean Bob Barker hasn't been hosting TPIR since 1910? I mean, he's practically a dinosaur..... a dinosaur with an orange spray-tan, botox and perfectly coiffed hair, that is. I figured people just heard about it via telegraph back then. Hmm.

Bob Barker probably looked exactly the same back then! the man never ages... but he never looked young either. ya win some, ya lose some.

funny illustration. :)

bob barker is the man!! he was giving away stone wheels to cavemen before the price is right even came to be!

the numbers on the wheel have been noted.. it's been a while since i've actually seen the wheel spun.

Price is Right may not have been on in 1910, but Bob Barker was definitely around... I find this very comical.
Oh by the way, I wouldn't put so much trust in Wikipedia. They can be a good source at times, but at other times their info is all outa wack. Just to warn you. Not like it really matters in this case.
