About my design

Haha... oh fun. Look for color options and close ups of the detail in my blog area.

Her (not recognizable as a girl, if that was intended) legs fall off?

Genius. The first 1/2 marathon I ran there was someone who died running it! I would lose the "New Century Marathon 2007" posts & banner though. The rest of the design is killer.

without the banner you cant really tell that she was running. why's the one paramedic staring off into the sunset and why does the other look like he just got out of prison?

I think removing the 2007 would make this a more timeless shirt but the rest is swank.

you know i had wondered about the year dating the shirt... I still don't know that it really bothers me that much though.

I so have to buy this for a friend. Can it say "He" or put in a gender neutral statement?

sorry, this one is just not for me. it's well designed though!

well, sure, it could easily be changed to "they" instead of she. That might also solve the unrecognizable problem as well.

the type on the banner is bad bad bad.

i like the rest though.

Makes me sad.

I wouldn't change it to "they" with the one person laying there... it would be too odd. I also think that the legs need to extend further... right now it looks as if they fell off at the thighs. Perhaps, instead of having anything on the banner, you could have a broken finish line tape laying between the posts, and also her paper number laying beside the trophy?

"they" would actually be grammatically incorrect in this case, despite the fact that so many people use it this way in every-day speech and writing. I definitely think you need to neutralize the engendering, but that may require rewriting the sentence.

I realize that it's grammatically incorrect, but I think the qualification of "so many people use it [this] way" would make it more suitable for the illustration. It is supposed to be an every-day situation, just with a little dark humor.
