actually I was inspired from a picture I took of a real deer living near my house and it is not bambi's friend. I don't know, maybe you were confused, I know fantasy is a lot like reality..:P

Love it! Much less Bambi-y. It gets a $5 from me!

(Like it on blue, or grey. They bring out the color of the deer..)

Keep the old tree, keep this new deer, and it's a 5.

Well, it's almost there.

The deer is much less Bambi-esque as the other one; however, you still have eyes of Bambi, where most people may be resembling it from now...

I actually enjoyed the circles under the tree under the last one, instead of the harsh "line" of grass, which simply directs your eyes across, instead of up and around the tree, back down to the deer.

As for people thinking it was the Target logo, they might want to think of looking again at it. The Target logo is a larger outer red circle with a smaller one in the middle. Yours were not Target, nor were the red. Unless those people exclusively go to Target for everything, they can't claim it's Target.

Wonderful shirt though m'dear.

Considering that this deer is much less Bambi-esque, there is still the element of the eyes that should be worked. They are still coming off as Disney, era 1942. Perhaps why people are thinking this is the gray "half circles" for the "shading" of his eyes.

As for the movement of the piece, it's stopped suddenly by the harsh line of "grass" that moves across the bottom. You had a much more successful design with the circles, as seeing that used the motif found in the tree (the leaves), and the spots on the deer.

Also, the circles do not represent Target, and shame on people that think this. The Target logo is a larger outer circle, with a smaller enclosed circle in the middle. Yours were not like this, nor were they red. So unless these critics rely on Target for everything, they should not think of Target once seeing these.

Wonderful design m'dear.

( http://www.merveilleux.ca/fondecran/disney-fond-ecran-bambi1.jpg ) and ( http://www.tropiccomics.com/ebay/lcbambir2.jpg ) - step away from the Disney "how to draw/animate" books, both designs are just waaaay too Disney

Viewing art is a reactionary process that, if successful, creates a feeling or a mood. It is not the viewers "fault" if he or she is struck with the effects of symbols that are near enough to those of popular culture so as to dredge up memories from dismal commercials or flyers from target. That does not mean that I have Target on the brain-I hardly ever go there. Nor does it mean that an artist cannot use a circle inside of a circle as a design element. But when the artist uses it in a reduntant manner, as it was, then the viewer becomes positively bashed on the head with all possible meanings of said symbol. So shame on you, MizShellL for your lack of vision.

As for the new art-congrats for re-submitting, that takes fortitude. I too, still see too much influence from classic Disney animation and I think you should render the scenery with the same effort as the deer, but still, a better attempt!

Perhaps you should have seen the other design, DrawnWings, as people said they all looked like the Target symbol.

I am simply saying how they do not represent, nor do we need to have to tie in commercial places into design. Provided you have an original design, it works.

So read it closer, as I prefer the design element much more (with the circles) It enhances the design. It's aesthetically more pleasing, and fits with the circle motif, used in both the leaves of the tree and the deer's spots.

So watch how you read sir.

I disagree with this being a better version. The other one had an element of magic to it. I would still buy the first version but only rate this a 3

That is bitchin'. Just wondering if the evergreen shirt (that is green, right?) might make it look too Christmas-y? I really like the tree though.... AND the damn deer. I didn't check out the other design, but there are enough other people suggesting to make the tree more like the first and the grass not so flat or whatever... so I'll just go with that. I'm being lazy right now..
