but awesome that she owned a giraffe. Oh, these are pets? I thought it was the Chinese calendar... year of the dog, year of the rat, etc. That's why the giraffe and dinosaur confused me. And if she owned a dinosaur, that little girl is a lot older than she looks. |

i really like this!...except for the year numbering thing, because it doesn't match up with the "little" girl. she could just be a midget with attachment issues (not to rip on midgets, don't get me wrong). i agree that middle placement is best.

I kinda took it to mean that each one was a pet and lost at some point, like the giraffe was owned by some other person in 1978, etc. Could be wrong tho.

I thought this was going to be a chinese zodiac thing at first glance. It's a really good idea. It just looks like the animals were scattered rather thoughtlessly though. I personally wouldn't buy it but it get's a 5.

I really thought it was about extinction but yeah most of those animals don't seem extinct... unless it's like really specific species of frog in 2006 or something..

Nice. I agree, top/center placement best with a 'softer' line worked in. Maybe have the dinosaur way down at the bottom, like a surprise for someone who really pays attention the design?

with the theme, I would've figured that instead of an animal it would be something major that year, like Twin Towers for 9/11, like a symbol of that year. But it's a nice idea.
