It's a collage of antique engravings, mostly tools and machinery. It has really great detail up close and it's a saw-whet owl for anyone who is interested. it works with any light color and can be inverted to work on dark colors.

someone mention that to me after i made this. they have some crazy awesome designs.

I really like it. I would like to see it bigger on the shirt and prehaps have a less obvious place for the mouse - why not on the lower back or something? The black and white looks hot™. I cant see me digging it inverted. Black and white owl with abstract areas of primary watercolour done in super fine halftone as a backdrop would be ill imo. 5$ anyway

Great design, it works pretty much any way you color it-- and.... it's lovely.

This is awesome, though I fear the detail is pushing the limit of what's screenable onto a t-shirt.



I have several t-shirts that were screened by collage artist Freddie Baer. One of them has this image:

especially on a t-shirt I'd probably go for the dotted line to indicate where the owl is looking... or move the mouse a bit higher. the mouse gets too easily ignored as it is currently. but otherwise an awesome design, J. scored 5 from me.

I love the owl, but the smoke trail doesn't seem to fit at all, it ruins the shape and flight of the owl imo

beautiful design. congrats on your first submission and keep up the good work. now for the constructive criticism:



1) i second the concerns that have been already been raised re: screen printing, 2) ditto on pink color, would prefer either combinations of gray, light blue, cream, brown, or black...or a combination of bright and a dark is intriguing, though I personally don't like bright yellow, 3) would like to see mouse tipped up slightly, head higher than hind, so the form is more dynamic--as if the little guy is jumping and startled rather than running straight ahead, 4) i like the mouse closer to the owl, as done in the details, because there's an added tension/excitement to the moment right before capture (...or escape?), which is lost in the pink shirt, 5) though i understand the need to differentiate mouse and owl, i would prefer a little less contrast in the mouse, so that it incorporates some more of the delicate, engraved quality of the owl--but for some reason i'm not bothered by this so much on the inverted version, 6) play around with the placement a bit more--perhaps lower right corner with mouse scampering off over the side, yet i also totally get why you wanted the owl upper left...but then the mouse is a problem! best of luck.
