melting ... crying ... wedding-esque swan sculptures.

1. i like this image a lot, but i don't understand how the title relates.
2. the edges of the image are way rough, most ice sculptures are real smooth, especially if they've been melting, you could really soften that up
3. i prefer a shirt with a message, this just isn't my thing. i'm sure you'll get some 5's on this. but not one from me. sorry!

Brett, I know I guess I don't belong here if I feel this way but..it is a shirt. A shirt with a message? Lame. You are not a billboard. Wear a shirt that looks good on you, not that tells a story or gives a thought provoking message.

well hey there apple.
i don't mean to say that i would like a shirt that's especially deep or anything. i just want one that has something a little more than a random image on it.
and i think there may be something behind this shirt, to get back on topic, maybe i'm just missing it.

I don't really like this one. Don't like the graphic and I don't like the whole idea, I wouldn't wear it.

As I see it it's very simple. Obviously both ice swans are in love you can tell that by the tear in the eye of the one that is not melting, he is crying for the lost of his friend. That's the passion. Now the storytelling is that particular moment that has been frozen in time. You see the swan that is not melting so you know what there was before. And you know what is going to happen in the future.
I think it's clever to see how much information is passed with only one image. Much like what is done in movies. This is what I like about it that it holds the essence of films and storytelling without showing movies related things like in other shirts I saw of the same competition.

But again it could be that I got it wrong (i hope not...). Anyway I still like it. 5$. I also like the use of 4 different shads of blue…

This design has a great idea. I like it but I think it could have been pushed further. Ice, and other reflective objects have alot of contrast. To make it look really transparent and smooth I would use one more color , perhaps an even darker blue, and more of the blue that indicates the shape of the swans eye. You have alot of highlights in the piece but using those two other shades of blue will give the sculptures a much more 3 dimensional look. I think it would be worth working on it some more for your own portfolio.

Podium -
1 problem - the shape of the swan that isn't melting. Its body is large in front and the lack of a rear makes it unbalanced. If the bottom was slanting up toward the tail, it could appear foreshortened and that would work.
1 beautiful thing - the way you used the obvious blue and the 3 other close colors. Like the above poster, I think you could push this more and take advantage of your sophisticated color choices.
One random thing - dark under the melting swan's head could be a good thing - it doesn't read easily. That said - good work!

I like it a lot. It would be even better if the non-melting swan was a real swan.

I really like the way the melting swan has a tear. Well thought out.

First thanks for all the people that rated and commented so far.
Ammonia as for the idea I think smacks summed it up quite good for what I was trying to achieve.
I also noticed many people would have liked to see it more realistic. I believe this is something that could have been done, even without the use of another color. But as a friend of mine said to; you need to decide if you want to make it a realistic illustration and then you will have to make it really, really accurate. Or something more free. This is what I did. I have another version of it with more shades and the swans definitely look more realistic. But at the end looking at both I found out I like this one more. I guess is a matter of taste. As for the straight lines I know people here are not really fund of these and like the more curvy lines, but what can I do I like them. And as telling that a melting ice can not have straight lines, well this is something I just not agree with.
I don’t wear t-shirts; the idea of making a live swan crossed my mind. I don't know why I didn't do it at the end. It is a good idea. It's totally a different idea, but still a good one. I might do that in the near future.

Again thanks.

I like the concept, but the design itself is a little rough. And I think I'd like it more if the first one wasn't crying.

But good work! 3 as is.

i actually think i would wear this, although like someone said before, it might be better if the edges were a little smoother.
