pretty drawing, it would be nice to see it larger. Perhaps try ditching that shirt template, just having a filled background, a larger view of your illo, and a smaller placement illo to the side.

I love the quietness of this and your color sense. It would make a beautiful postcard or page in a story book. However, I'm not entirely sold on it as a t-shirt. The best t designs - well, my favorites anyhow - have more graphic power than the subtlety of this illustration allows for. Still, very nice!

very very nice. Maybe a bit more of a background color though. I love the illustration.

The serene and tranquil style of this design is definitely a one of a kind in today's design styles..I might get some flack here but I'm over the negative and disturbing designs where shock and awe is the goal..light is always better than dark. Period.

Very similar to a design by Veer.
Check out the 2005 Veer.com desktop wallpapers. Or just follow this link:

Veer's "Rider" Desktop Wallpaper

It is your own work and probably isn't a problem, still - be careful.

um, no, those aren't really similar at all. and it's a big deal to be accusatory for such a weak comparison.

Ive never even heard of veer. Ive heard of deer. :)

ajsolid84 on Feb 01 '07
LOL... nice rhyme.

I didn't accuse anyone of anything, sonmi. I remember stating that it was his work, I'm sure, and so therefore is not a problem. I just think it's good to know when your work or even just the ideas behind your work are similar to a those of a design that exists alreadly. I would very much appreciate knowing if a design I did is in any way similar to someone else's work somewhere. If anything, knowing that the same sort of ideas go through the heads of other paid professionals at design firms would brighten my day up a little bit.

And, Fawnfruits, VEER is a design firm that supplies graphic design, stock photography, typography, and illustartion.

thanks for the enlightenment. :) but what design really hasnt been done in one way or another? i find my work to be subconciously apporpriating every single day. I try not to but its just there. Its funny cause Im talking about what I've seen..and I havent seen veer's poster at all...which leads me to conclude that we both appropriated from a cave man painting I saw at LACMA.

great work, get us a close up though!

Pretty weak association to say this is similar to that poster.

"Similar" does not mean "stolen" or "plagiarised."
I don't know why so many people assume that particular connection on these forums. Similar means similar. End of story. Therefore a design of a young girl riding from stage left to stage right on the back of a deer with floating leaves is "similar" to another design with all those same aspects. Isn't it? Makes sense to me. When you see a design and it reminds you of another design, it is because they are similar, it doesn't mean they are copies of one another.

Let me repeat - "Similar" does not mean "stolen."

I like this one and deer organ the best out of your subs. These are so refreshing and great. I love that it looks handdrawn (I dont know if it is, tho) and not all masked w/ one color/done in flash--it's got texture that is so authentic and real. LOVE YOUR WORK! Great colors too!
