Postive overcomes the negative.

A positive image made up of negativity.

interesting idea, i'm not exactly sure how i feel about it. it seems like, ya, "peace overcomes all the negativity" but the negativity is also making up the peace sign itself...it doesn't really work for me

I liked it until I saw the word 'gay' amoungst the negative words. I find it quite odd that straight and gay are there.

This is super cool, I don't know how well it will turn out on a tee though.

Good concept, but my immediate interpretation was that things like "fear," "control," "hate," and "racism" are what gives us peace/makes up a peaceful world - not a message I would wear.



Tweak the design, I think that your concept is good and your imagery could be strong.

I'm not a big fan of seeing such angry words making up the symbol, I get what you're saying, but I'm not a huge fan of how it's said...

maybe having the shirt covered in text then the peace symbol is highlighted with darker words to help it pop out.

I agree with the above person, why is 'gay' in there? Sexual orientation is not a negative thing in itself, only people's perspectives of them. Perhaps you should replace it with a word like 'homophobic' or 'prejudice' because they are negative words which I think are a more accurate portrayal of the message you are trying to put across.

Also the word 'woman'. Again, being female is NOT a negative thing, perhaps you should replace it with 'repression of women' or 'patriarchal society' or something. Because being a woman isn't bad, only the way women are discriminated against in some countries.



Overall I think your concept is inventive and thoughtful, but if you do decide to use negative words, you really need to be careful which words you include.

Personally I think the use of positive words would be a better idea.

it was suppose to be words that some people see as negative. I guess I was thinking of things that seem to cause the biggest issues in society. I don't know...

confusing

I think it would be great if the peace sign was made up of positive words...I know we dont live in a sublime world but it would work better for me that way. This shirt makes a loud statement and I think there are people out there that would like the contrast. So I do give it a 4 for creativity.

concept is slightly flawed and I have a certain rule about wearing shirts with peace signs on them

I understand that my orignal idea wasn't protrayed perfectly, and I can work on fixing that.



In the meantime.. to clarify:

I meaning behind this piece is SUPPOSED to be that Positivety overcomes negativety. "Negativety" is used in a general sense.. meaning conflict, things that create conflict, differences for example. Many people have a problem with people who are different.. therefore it creates a conflict. War creates conflict. Fear creates conflict. Men and women create conflict. Since you see/"read" the Peace sign before the words, the message is that Positivety is stonger than all of that.



I will work on trying to communicate that message better in the design.

*suppse to say "the meaning... " Not "i meaning..."

Personally, I loved it. I find it funny how many people see your statement about "opinion" as an expression of "facts." I can also agree that this image would suggest to some that peace is composed of negativity, but in reality... it kinda is. Not the ideal certainly, but as a african-america male, i can testify to how... fragile and obtuse "peace" in a society can be. Lots lies beneath the surface. :-) Nice one jen!

I'm lovin the typography on this. And I'm liking the whole idea behind it after you exampled it. People are so negative, sometimes you got to look at the piece and analyze it from different perspectives like a painting in a musem.

good idea, great execution, and ...obvious contrast of positive and negative, but ...sadly, its applying the law of attraction...being, that in order for the positive to exist, you need the negative. which is true to some degree, if you reference yin and yang, however....it still emphasizes extremes. this doesnt need to be. you could simple have a happy medium. we need a new symbol, that suits this ideal.

I would like it more if ALL the words were closer in size. Such as the words fear, hate, war. That way it really does show all those things are TRULY tiny in comparison to peace.



I definently got your concept and idea though. I love the red text thrown in there.

I really love it. =) I get it- because those are considered things that make you less perfect. A straight male is pefect, in the eye of many people. Strong, etc. But, there's stuff like sexism that goes on everywhere, so it's good ot have "woman" and "gay". But- you make a contraversal t-shirt, be prepared to battle.



Honestly, though, taking gay off of their might be best, for the single reason that no one wants to be looked at as homophobic, etc. I don't know if people will have enough time to read the shirt, so maybe make the read words even more *POP* worthy? That way, no one would worry about the rest.

Ineresting idea...maybe if you used the word "peace" instead of the symbol since you are using words within the design.
