This was inspired by a WW2 prison camp advert I saw a few weeks ago. It's another entry for Staffell's Joy of Text II blog competition.

Yes, it's hand-drawn. I set it in illustrator first to get the look I wanted, then redrew it by hand once I was happy with it. The only vectors are the two boxers.

My brain hurts just thinking about hand lettering all of that. In a design that would have so easy to go way overboard with, you've stuck a perfect balance of form and color. Incredible!

Something with this much text needs to be on the back of the shirt. It's less awkward to have people stalking behind you than walking backwards in front of you if they want to read your shirt.

oh i do love a great text shirt...hand lettered even...wonderful font designs...i'd wear it, tho backwards...and i'm OCD enough to try to correct the "elocution" myself with ink
