there's something about the red that isn't appealing. it kind of hurts my eyes to look at it for some reason. of course, that may apply only to me...

i totally read it as "wish."

also, i like that it's red. it's what they use in movies to depict what route a character has flown...like in the indiana jones movies!

and as far as people saying it's a song reference...wasn't it a common phrase used on post cards even before incubus and pink floyd existed?

Needless to say, I enjoy this design.

I get the red and why you used it but perhaps it needs to be on a softer blue because it really is quite bright but I wouldnt change the red itself.

"Wish you were here" is not a song rip off people! It's been said on millions of postcards since the invention of postcards pretty much.
example: "here i am in sunny hawaii, i wish you were here to enjoy it with me!"
Anyways, about the design... I like the idea! Maybe a dotted white line for the wording? The red is a bit hard to read.

...wish you were here....an incubus rip off?..... thats a joke right......but anyway- i enjoy the writing in red, but maybe use the first curve as teh first curve of the w so it doesnt look like a c? i love it tho. absolutely awesome :-)

Yes, the random selection of cities was modeled after photos of actual in-flight route maps on the personal screens. The maps appear to behave that way. (Also, I was hoping the red flight path's shadow would make it easier on the eyes over 'pacific blue'.) And what's cursh?

Hello. As a threadless designer, how could you NOT put Chicago on the map?
If you all think the red is hard to read, a dotted line is going to totally confuse everybody. Needless to say, I like the red.
The pacific blue (convenient color name, truly) is a little too bright for my liking though... Seafoam maybe?

I love the concept, the red is alright, but i think the "wish you were here" should overall be much bigger... who cares if it goes over city names?? Also... needs Orlando up in there :)

I like it. I would put it going from Europe to America, more across that region. And I agree, the red is too much. White or black would be nicer.

I honestly love that your map uses the correct cities. Every time I do an international flight, I wonder what is so important about Oslo! Fix the line as other people have said, and you got my $5.

i'm not sure i like the cities being pinpointed on the map, also i find the colours a bit too garish, it reminds me of one of those souvenir tshirts you get, which fits in snugly with the theme i suppose. maybe the text could be bigger??

I get the impression that the wish is that someone from London were drowning in the middle of the Pacific. If that's not the intention, it may look better with the flight path pointing somewhere vaguely less doomsome.
