random blob = the extra stump fibers from when it was cut down. the little cracks would show thats its been cut awhile, they start to crack and dry out eventually.

some of the resolution was taken away because of the way I resized the image, so that kind of sucks. I would put up a high res version but I can't because I'm not at home. sorry. =[
