Cool, too big though,

Here's an example of a very strong design with no type, and it's better for it.

Pay attention at the back.

Unlike most people, I like shirts with text. I like things to have a point. The design is awesome, I will give you that . . . but right now, the shirt means nothing to me. It is but the shilloette of a geek and some glasses. I wouldn't put it in my closet because dispite the awesome design, I don't see a point. The design may be the point, I suppose . . . but I still don't like this one.

I had an extensive conversation last night about the value of text (specifically, on the body, as in tattoos, but for this I can also apply it to shirts). My point, as it was then andnow, was that I think text should be used only sparingly when combined with imagery, because we're so conditioned to read text and draw hardlined conclusions based on what we read. This is not necessarily a bad thing, as if you've got a point to get across, you can do it much more definitively with type than with images.

However, if the point is to give you something to look at and question (which yr doing, well), some witty little message scrawled beneath the image has potential to cheapen it.

Thanks for the criticism and dialogue, tho.

i like the idea of posture and body language or fashion attributes being a marker of an attitude or some emotional state (in this design), it's kind of romantic/geeky/sweet...I love geeks...5 again
