Actually it's the property of the Tolkein Estate, on license to New Line Cinema. Won't be too too long before it comes into the public domain though. Just, say, 30 years?

well if this is copywrited, why did they allow it to be voted on!
i don't get it... we'll see what happens |
The image, the name, all of it is copyrighted. Nice idea, but unfortunately, not your work, and not legal to print.

YEEEEEES! This makes me wish I was a guy so that when people saw this I could say "Would you like to blow the horn of Gondor?" $5.
Sorry, but the artwork is a direct trace of artwork conceived for the film by Weta Workshop and is their property and licensed for use by New Line Cinema. The concept is the property of the Tolkien estate. It's not printable.

I LOVE LOTR, BUT. . . .I think everyone is right about it being "stolen" property. Maybe you could make your own design that is inspired by the tree of Gondor.
Yeah, legal or not, this doesn't feel very personal or appealing, I don't really feel like there's much to this besides 'it's the tree of gondor', which is OK but just not worth it IMO. Sorry!

NOt to be nitpicky but isn't the image originally int he books on the door to the mines of moria? so new line wouldn't own it?
... Bah, I just geeked out over a shirt I'm ambivalent about, dangit. |
if this can't/won't be printed, then someone should do a design based on themes and ideas from gondor/lotr. the tree is just so nice...
