I've no problem with the dot, but I reckon it'd be more subtle without the text.

I'd ditch the text as the graphic is strong enough on it's own, it would also make the overall design stronger. Perhaps try shrinking the graphic and moving it to the bottom/off center, this would give it a grounding and thus giving an emphasis of what you are trying to show.
