I think hip hop is getting a second wind. Blackalicious and the Gorillaz are making it good again. But I still love the design, and will give it a five.

I saw DJ Shadow Monday night, and I can tell you it's certainly not dead! i Do really like the type and the look though. so a 4 nevertheless.

How about R.I.P HIP HOP? Since it's all the same font and in caps, I thought it said "rip" Hip Hop, as in either to tear it or to copy it off a CD (ripping).

Hip hop died in 1996 with Pac, and the beginning of the "mo money, mo shitty records" revolution. Hip hop needs a Nirvana to bring it back to reality. $5

I don't think hip hop is dead, I just think you have to look a little harder to find the good stuff. But the same can be said of most genres. ANYWAY, I didn't even realize that it was "R.I.P." and not "RIP" until I read it in a comment, so dots would help. And I agree with everyone that the font is cool.

When I first saw it, it reminded me of the word game where you create new words by changing one letter in the previous word (e.g. cat, hat, hot.) The fact that it said r.i.p. as in rest in peace was almost like an afterthought. I love it.
