there's not enough of a transition between the guy and the bird. and I think it would make more sense if he jumped face first instead of feet first, because that's how birds fly.

I'd need that extra step between the bird and the guy before I can give this a good score. The transition is very ungraceful. I think the jump itself- even though it doesn't make sense, looks very cool.

I think the transition makes sense - a bird has its legs right under its wings when it flies. It definitely doesn't have its legs in the back with wings extending to the front, as suggested by some. I would just make the guy before turning into a bird even more birdlike. Maybe some transition between his clothes and his skin, featherlike. And his arms would need to be a bit more feathery. Other than that, it's great - I know lots of people who would be happy to get this for Xmas ;)

I don't think it needs another transition picture as much as the transition needs to be more pronounced in the third image. Otherwise, I love it. Really caught my eye. I'd definitely buy it. I also agree with Vixxxen on the jump. The legs underneath him look good. If you know anything about the anatomy of (well.. I'm assuming that's an eagle) eagles then you'll know that the human's feet are in the correct position.

i'm also leaning more towards the head first and i understand how the feathers would look more downy coming out, but it kinda looks hairy. still a 5 though!

I love it, the feet are in the right place, and the only sensible change I could imagine would be shorter legs, anything else between the latter two images would make the morph (verb) anamorphic (adjective).
