i don't know what it is, but i hate the mermaid-thing...and it bugs me that it is in so many of your subs. not trying to be mean. maybe i'd like it more if it had a torso and arms

I think the stuff at the bottom holding the chest takes away from the mermaid too much. Also agree with the arm thing. But the colours are good, and mermaids are cool.

Yeah, good to stick to your guns. I'm going to agree with most people and say I like the style but the mermaids erk me, if they weren't in the designs I'd like the designs better. But if that is the aesthetic you are going for, they are well executed

i respect you standing up for your style, but i wouldn't wear a design that would make people ask me the same questions that are being asked of your design. it's a cool piece, though, and if it were a print/poster/whatever i'd happily hang it on my wall and enjoy looking at it.

Frankly I like the mermaid; her shape is different and intersting. The flow of the entire design is really smooth; I don't feel like there's one part that catches my eye and the rest is throwaway.

While I have seen armless mermaids before, I do not see how she is ripping off anything from that site. I don't think the site owns rights to the idea of a mermaid without arms. This is the shirt they are refering to. You can see there are distinct differences between the mermaids such as the scaling and lack of fins on FourtyFours. As I said before, I have seen other depictions of more fish like mermaids, so the stylistic differences are enough for me to consider them unique. This being said, I still don't like the style, but I feel a need to defend it because it is not derivative and FourtyFour likes it. I'll respect that. Additionally, the concepts of the shirts are much difference. I do like how immersed people are in other tee shirt design/ art sites so that plagerism is caught, I just think in this instance it is going too far.

It is pretty similar. However, she has added in many other things (i.e. the treasure chest, seaweed, etc.). I don't know if you can copywright a style.

I love your style, it like how fat the mermaid is, add arm and a bit of a torso, but no Little Mermaid please, it is so original the way that it is. I wold add some more seaweed on the bottom or sand or something to make it more complete. and change the color of the squid that blue is hard to see

well, it actually does look a LOT like the one from the lucha site... But I do think it's cute and I don't think less of it because of the other one. And even tho I think it's great that you stick by your style I really think it's about time you try other things than the mermaid.

I don't like the eyes of the mermaid, and would like to see how it would turn out if you added a torso and arms, but the main problem for me is the eyes.
