About my design
by keithmore
This design isn't meant to say that one point of view is right and another one wrong, it is simply meant to encourage debate. I think that T-Shirts are a new artistic venue that can reach more people on a different level than other forms of art.

Doesn't really make me wanna debate anything...
But looks good...

why would lettuce and tomatoes have "depression" and "heart disease" written on them? I'm getting bored with all the "fast food is bad for you" themes, but I'd say this is better than most of the Fast Food submissions

I like it, reminds me of th Big Mac slogan, I would add "on a seasame seed bun..." to the bottom, but that is just me.

Good submission for FFN...better than the cliche coke/fries/burger idea. 3

i like but maybe place the layers a tad bit closer together so can see that it's a burger

Those of us who have type 1 diabetes would not want to wear a shirt suggesting that our genetic condition is due to improper diet. So I would never on earth wear this shirt. And I doubt people with type 2-- many of whom have developed it for reasons unrelated to diet-- would ever wear this shirt either.

And non of us would like to see anyone wearing this sirt, either.

But it's a really nice design concept.

as a cancer patient, i mean i think raising awarness overall is important, though ive stayed away from fast food, there are loads of bad behaviors and other things that provoke and aggravate cancers and other serious medical conditions.
on the design tho..
i didnt catch it as a burger first though, maybe if they were closer together
and instead of lettuce you could have more that one layer of meat or cheese

I like the design, I mean I have alot of people in my family w/ diabetes & I doubt they'd wear it. Although I'm not sure I would either. It's still great design, and I may buy it if it were'nt a t-shirt. $4

So I just wanted to be clear about a couple of things.
1) This design is not meant to say that the problems listed are caused by fast food alone. Everything I've listed are possible problems that can result from obesity, the connection simply being that the over-use of fast food is one of the many things that lead to obesity. Any of the problems listed can also be caused by any number of other factors, too high to count.
2) I am in no way intending to be disrespectful to anyone who suffers from these conditions. Like someone stated earlier, I think raising awareness to one of the causes of these problems is the main purpose. I would also never be under the impression that these problems can all be completely avoided by simply staying away from fast food.
3)After I saw "Fast Food Nation" with some friends of mine, one of the big discussions was how frustrating it was to see how messed up things are and not have a whole lot of options to fix it personally.
What I ended up taking away from it was not that the purpose is to convert everyone to vegetarians, or even to keep everyone from eating fast food all together. I think that's unrealistic, and frankly not very fair to expect that from everyone. But the main thing is that we were talking about it, it encouraged discussion which is HUGE. I think with such a broad and contraversial subject matter, that's one of the best things you can achieve.

Keithmore: Wow, it's kind of a shame that you have to explain yourself, but there are a lot of sensative people out there. There are people who develope diabetes and other conditions due to poor diet and overall bad lifestyle. Diabetes can be managed well with good nutrition and a more active lifestyle. In the context of the FFN contest I find this very fitting.

I should make a shirt with just a picture of air on it, and list all of the diseases and complications you can get from it

I like it! It does seem odd to me that the lettuce and tomatoes have diseases, but I'm thinking you mean the hamburger as a whole.

Nothing like an uplifting tee design brightening the day with its body-destroying ideas gleefully staring out at you! I really like the design of this drawing, and everything is placed perfectly and balances itself out. as for the idea, I realize you are going for the general picture, and that's what this shirt achieves. A solid 3.

Someone looking at this shirt out of context would have no idea that it's trying to convey a message. It's just a bunch of words.

i would agree having discouraging statments on veggies should be avoided (although pickles aren't too healthy, i might agree with the addition of cheese

how is it just a bunch of words? that "bunch of words" is clearly a sandwich

i think my biggest problem is i don't find this particularly gripping. it just seems to be emphasising one aspect of a much larger issue associated with poverty.

in addition, if you want to spark a debate i would suggest tackling the someone ironic fact that while our country has the highest percentage of obese persons, it also has the highest rate of anorexia and bulemia.

god, we get it, fast food is bad. Too bad everyone already knew that. Let people make they're own choices (then we won't have to deal with them anymore)
preachy tees suck.
It'd be like youth group kids wearing t-shirts saying "repent or burn"
