I quite agree about the shirt colour; I used the white mainly for placement visibility. The background is, I think, the colour on which it looks best.

At a glance, to the right of the dog's head it almost looks like there's another head. Sort that out and you're onto a winner in my book.

Where are you seeing the other head? I'm not sure where it'd be myself, although the right ear could probably use a bit more definition.
