This idea spawned from the term my instructor uses for a new graphic designer at school or in a design firm. I thought it would be pretty funny if I put that idea to a shirt and have a real monkey just staring a computer. So here it is. I like it best in these four colors and out of those, I like the Athletic Heather the best. If you have any other color ideas let me know. Thanks everybody!

The quality of a design has nothing whatsoever to do with the designer's knowledge of random trivia. The word "monkey" is nowhere on the shirt; it's not text on the shirt is mispelled or something. Get off your high horses.

Monkeys: baboons, capuchins, macaques, mandrills, monkeys, tamarins



Apes evolved from Old World Monkeys about 25 million years ago. Apes are to monkeys what human are to apes. And since many americanos don't really believe in evolution, calling apes monkeys sort of implies that we are apes which wouldn't surprise me to be illegal in some states.

wow...some people have way too much time on their hands. People it's a shirt based off a phrase, most people generally associate the word Monkey with /all/ primates. The world will not end because the phrase is 'Pixel Monkey' and there's an Ape drawn on the shirt.

I donīt understand the grey line, and I donīt care about the difference between monkey and ape (guys: itīs a Tshirt, not a United Nations document!). I like the nipples, too!

While not having a problem with the Ape vs Monkey debate, as I have a tendency to do the same, I do actually like the way "PixelApe" rolls off the tongue. Nice Piece, I like the keyboard, and I'm also confused by the armpit line...

ditto - who cares if its a monkey or an ape!!! The design is good thats all that matters. Even if i did care about the monkey/ape debate it doesn't say monkey anywhere on the t-shirt so its really NOT A PROBLEM :-)

If it doesn't score well, re-submit it without the grey line. I would make the nipples grey too, they seem to bother some people. I like it!

Didn't know the difference between apes and monkeys. In french we don't make it.

Yeah, the grey line isn't so great, but I really like its concept. Parodies the whole chewing-on-your-pencil kinda thing. Perhaps you could make it more "stick-ish," by shortening it and adding a few twigs etc.

but if the phrase is pixel monkey, shouldn't it be an actual monkey? the grey line is a stick that the chimp is chewing on. don't make the nipples yellow. pink is ok

ah, a stick, okay it makes sense now that you told me but yeah, it doesn't really look like a stick, maybe if you made the white on the keyboard light grey and then made the stick green/brown, along with what Paracelsus said about shortening it would be easier to tell it was a stick

Yeah, agree with keepitbouncy. If the stick stopped at it's mouth and didnt go to the armpit people would've accepted it. I don't care if it's not a monkey. I personally didn't know there was a difference until now. Good shirt.

Love it but I'd prefer to see a monkey, not an ape - not because of the title but because monkeys are cuter! (I mean, they have tails 'n stuff!) PS that monitor looks a lot like the IBM sitting on my desk right now so I think you could easily tweak it to be more generic if need be.
