LDVDG, I love the Gorillas! Though, that is not really the inspiration.

Jonsmith, this was originally designed for my father-in-law. He brews
his own beer and he wanted me to make him a label for it. He wanted
to call it "Green Monkey." I originally did design it as a "head" logo, but
he found out someone else was brewing theirs under the same name.

Androidmice, he is not really flicking anyone off, although if you like to
see it that way, I could extend the fingers. He was originally supposed to
be baring his knuckles (like for nuggies) and it read, "Puttin' hair on your
chest since 1953!"

SeetaForSleep, I did want to make his feet with opposable digits, which
probably would have made them look bigger, but, I couldn't get them to come
out the way I really wanted and went with the obvious.
